Indonesia National Standardization Community (MASTAN) held National Meeting on Standardization Community and the 6th General Meeting of Members (RUA) of MASTAN at Balai Kartini Jakarta on November 19, 2009.

The meeting was held as a part of the peak of the National Quality Month and World Standard Day 2009 and opened by the Head of National Standardization Body (BSN), Dr. Bambang Setiadi. On the occasion, Dr. Bambang Setiadi extended that BSN can not develop Indonesia National Standard (SNI) on its own and requires the support from all stakeholders particularly MASTAN to make SNI match the need and able to be directly applied optimally. In relation to the theme in the "National Quality Month" and "World Standard Day 2009 namely "Standard to Encounter Climate Change" Dr. Bambang Setiadi expects that the respective Regional Coordinators of MASTAN can campaign SNI to Green House Gasses because BSN is preparing SNI to Green House Gas being one of the programs to support United Indonesia Cabinet II.

The event was filled with reports from 8 Regional Coordinators of MASTAN namely Regional Coordinator of North Sumatera, Regional Coordinator of South Sumatera, Regional Coordinator of West Java, Regional Coordinator of Central Java, Regional Coordinator of DIY, Regional Coordinator of East Java, Regional Coordinator of South Sulawesi, Regional Committee of Bali, and Regional Coordinator of Nusantara Tenggara. The event was guided by Prof. Syamsir Abduh, Ph.D. In addition, the event was also filled with explanation of principles of amendment to the draft of Bylaws/Articles of Association and explanation of work program plan of 2010 guided by Ir. Mangasa Ritonga MM. The event was followed by approximately 300 participants being the members of MASTAN from various Regional Coordinators throughout Indonesia.(arf)
