A surprising new for motor bikers, on May 2011 later, the government will apply mandatory SNI on Motor Wheels. But, no further explanation is given whether this SNI applied for the installed wheels on motor or spreading until after market wheels. As we know, day by day, the sales of motor in Indonesia are increasing.

On 2011 ago, there were 8.043.535 motors sold in all over Indonesia. This number is raising 8,72 percent than the sales of motor in 2010 ago. When applied later, it is unknown yet whether the application of SNI on the wheels will only touch the industry by requiring SNI in the wheels, which is produced or spread into the public by requiring the use of SNI's wheels as well as SNI helmet.

SNI Standard on wheel actually had been produced since 2008 ago with its code number 4658:2008. However, the obligatory application will be enforced on May. After the implementation of SNI wheels, it is planned the government will also apply mandatory SNI for many kinds of products, which installed in the motorcycle starting from brake, battery/accumulator, horn, filters, lights and rear view mirror and even the motor itself will be mandatory SNI.
